The 1440-PLC-2N AutoAssistTM Lathe is a precision-engineered machine designed for a wide range of turning operations.

For machining, this 14” x 40” lathe offers ample capacity for both small and medium-sized workpieces. It features a powerful 5kW servo motor directly driving the spindle, delivering smooth and efficient performance without the need for belts or gear reductions.

For productivity, it features the NEW Sharp AutoAssist touchscreen control. This intuitive control delivers the power and efficiency of conversational programming while preserving the accessibility of manual operations.

Automatic Machining Parameter Filling

Built-in cutting conditions tailored for various materials allow the system to automatically generate optimal machining parameters based on the user’s selected material and part geometry.

Automatic Thread Cutting

One of the most difficult jobs on a manual machine is thread cutting. With Sharp AutoAssist, you simply select the thread you want, whether inch or metric, and the threading speed is 4 to 8 times faster than conventional threading. It can machine workpieces with an angle without the need to install a taper attachment.

Taper Turning Without Attachment

This machine is capable of taper turning without the need for a taper attachment, simplifying operation while maintaining high accuracy and eliminating additional equipment costs.

Built-in File Storage

Save programs after completion with auto-file, ideal for those high-mix, low volume environments.  Program it once, save it, and recall jobs whenever you need to make another one-off or small part-run.
