Position Overview
Sharp Precision Machine Tools is seeking a highly skilled Technical Service Manager with a strong background in machine tool service and maintenance. This role will oversee our Parts and Service Department, ensuring excellent customer support, efficient operations, and optimal performance of all service activities. The Technical Service Manager will serve as the key point of contact for customer service, technical support, and service team leadership. This is a hands-on position based out of our Gardena, CA warehouse.
Key Responsibilities
- Service & Technical Support
- Lead and manage service operations for installed machine tools, ensuring timely and accurate response to customer service requests
- Provide advanced troubleshooting, diagnostics, and technical solutions for machine tool issues
- Develop and maintain service manuals, procedures, and technical documentation
- Train and mentor service technicians on installation, maintenance, and repair procedures
- Collaborate with sales and application teams to support customer demonstrations and technical presentations
- Parts & Service Department Management
- Oversee parts inventory, stocking levels, and procurement to ensure availability for service work
- Develop processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and responsiveness in parts ordering and fulfillment
- Monitor departmental KPIs including service response times, first-time fix rates, and customer satisfaction
- Customer Relationship Management
- Serve as the escalation point for complex technical or service issues
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction, retention, and repeat business
- Proactively identify service improvement opportunities and communicate them to management
- Team Leadership
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing service and parts team
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching and feedback

- Identify operational bottlenecks and implement process improvements
- Recommend and implement new tools, technologies, or service strategies to improve efficiency
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in machine tool service, technical support, or field service management
- Strong knowledge of machine tools, CNC systems, and related accessories
- Experience managing service teams, parts operations, or technical departments
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills
- Proficient with CRM, ERP, or service management software
- Ability to travel to customer sites as needed
